I am learning, every bridge ain’t deserving of burning, Some roads only close ’cause a better one’s turning I mistook being wanted for knowing my worth, Now I’d rather lose a room than perform for a circle
They applaud when you rise, but get quiet when you’re grounded, Everybody loves depth till your truth makes ’em drown in it I quit chasing acceptance, it kept moving the finish, If peace costs me people, that’s the price of admission
Had to bury old versions that still knew how to breathe, Growth is grieving the person you were pressured to be. A closed fist holds grudges but can’t carry a blessing, So I loosened my grip without lowering my presence
Now the mirror talks different, listen, no fear, You don’t find yourself once; you keep meeting each year I was begging for a sign, overlooking my scars; Funny, healing made me whole, but the cracks made me art
