i still set the table for the ghost of us the wallpaper remembers the wrong colors the lemon tree outlived the marriage the cold got into the bones of the house

you were a rumor i believed twice the sea does not remember any of our names my hands still know your kitchen the field went gold then went to sleep

there is honey in the bottom of the bad years the dog still waits by the door at six i wrote your number on my palm and washed my hands winter came in through the window we never fixed

the radio only plays the parts i remember you can hear the whole town breathing at four am we are all somebody else's weather the floorboards keep the score

i put the whole year in one suitcase i traded my quiet for a louder kind of quiet i left the door unlocked for a season i buried the argument in the yard
