i am learning the names of ordinary things again the mirror learned my face by accident the map was wrong but the walking was right we sang until the neighbors forgave us
my hands still know your kitchen the map was wrong but the walking was right the floorboards keep the score we are all somebody else's weather
i keep apologizing to furniture the calendar keeps making promises the church bell is just a bell on tuesdays the sky was the color of an unopened letter
the radio only plays the parts i remember you can hear the whole town breathing at four am the kettle screams and i let it we are all somebody else's weather
i counted every streetlight home i keep the porch light on for nobody i put the whole year in one suitcase my mother taught me how to fold a grudge
the dog still waits by the door at six i left the door unlocked for a season
